Turning 23 on The Great Ocean Road!

Going back to this time last year, I could have never imagined how different my 22nd birthday could have been to this time round.

My housemates and I were lucky enough to be invited to our Aussie friends beach house on the Great Ocean Road for the weekend with 15 of his friends. I was a bit in two minds on whether to go or not, as being the massive girl I am, I didn't know whether it would be weird to spend my birthday with mostly strangers. But luckily I made the right decision and had the best birthday ever!

My first minutes of being 23 were spent in the Aussie ocean. It was pretty surreal, as being a December baby, the British climate isn't too fun.

We stayed in a little town called Apollo Bay which was beautiful. It was great to get out of Melbourne, as it seems that I have worked and worried about dollar each day since being here.

The day was spent sunbathing and drinking and it was honestly the best birthday I've ever had. No fuss, no stress and having this as my view was very ideal:

The route to and from his house was amazing. Though, it was a little difficult to enjoy the unreal scenery when half the car was holding in their hangover chunder. Massive struggle.

We stopped off in another place called Lorne on the way back to Melbourne, which was a cute little beachside town with a few shops, restaurants and amazing beaches. I would love to be able to spend more time next year in places similar to these.

It's a little sad to not be with my family and friends at home over the birthday and Christmas period, however it's the price I have to pay if I want to carry on the life I'm living.

From my 22nd birthday to this birthday, I've been lucky enough to have had some pretty life changing experiences, half of which I never thought I would ever have. Turning 22 I had never planned to go to the places I've been or do the things I've done. And this is making me pretty excited for my next year!

I've got to say a big fat thank you to my wonderful housemates and friends for making my first birthday away from home the best one yet! Thank you huns x

Living in paradise with nothing to blog

My blog has been pretty empty lately, as all I've been doing is pot washing, salad making and serving gin cocktails.

Balancing several jobs has meant that I've become a pretty slack blogger, and in between living the dream scrubbing them dishes, December sunbathing has been at the top of my to do list.

Other than cutting 20000000 tomatoes and trying to turn myself a different race, its worth mentioning that I managed to complete a 10k in under an hour and without passing out! However, that night far too much gin was drunk in celebration and it's safe to say I lost the plot a bit.

January 18th will see me leaving all my jobs (thank god) and going back on my travels; the first stop being Malaysia to reunite with the Vietnam galdem.

I'm planning on being in Asia for 5 weeks before coming back to travel the East coast of Australia. But those of you that know me know that my life plan changes far too often for me to say definite plans.

Im looking looking forward to visiting more new countries, getting my blog back on track and complaining about long bus journeys again. The one month countdown is on.
